I may have more posts about my experience. I found a Second Life (SL) site where some RL (Real Life) law enforcement and firefighting folks want to set up role playing in their setting for training and fun. My curriculum vitae is turned in and they have a week to respond. (I was there as they created and put out the application boxes).

Yes, it represents an investment of time, and there are
other things. Much depends on the personalities involved. It works best for the naturally extroverted, or for the introverted flirting briefly with extrovertism from behind the safety wall of anonymity. I think I rediscovered on SL that I was introvert, although I flirted with extrovertism and er, well a few other things for a time. Strangely, it worked for me, and so I can't extricate myself.
