I think yellow jackets are the meanest of all the flying beasties.....bar none.....I have them all around the lake, with wasps and dirt daubers....the YJ's are just mean, mean, mean...you don't have to do anything but wander out in the yard and they zoom in on you! I know of no positive impact or contribution to the environment they can plead....do you? As for your boy shennanigans....well, I was one of those girly girls who just did not get too rough....but, I did participate in my share of pine cone fights.....and, I was the neighborhood ace marble shooter when we were really young....so, the guys generally let me by without too much blood.....

Tree forts? Yes! Caves? Absolutely! And I shudder at the memory (though I certainly didn't shudder at the time) of how we made bows and arrows with pliable branches and string, and how we let fly at one another from behind 'fortifications'. I marvel at the fact that nobody ever lost an eye...

They can be real bastards, Wylie!
They're plenty aggressive -- the closest thing to killer bees I ever want to see!

Strat we should put my little poem with your masterpiece. This is
great. Skinned knees and bruises and playing outside with carefree abandonment. No, no one ever heard of suing and we used our own common sense not to swallow small parts of the meccano set.
