I'm sorry I'm just now getting caught up....this is hysterical! No one can tell a tale like you, make it come so alive for us!! My dear childhood cat, Sugar, would actually let me bathe her....she didn't like it, but she would overcome all her instincts versus hurt me....and Taps hasn't seen PITIFUL until she's seen a soaking wet white cat sitting so forlornly in a bathroom sink.....and let's talk wet fur mixed with flea soap....ewwwwww!

As I am sitting here laughing, Bubbles is eying me suspiciously, but I have reassured her that I never...I mean, I'm no longer 16, and even if I were...And I take it your sister now owns a
dog?

Sometimes you just gotta let it go, Taps.
I would no more try to give our cat a bath than play Russian Roulette. In fact, I would pretty much equate one with the other, although Russian Roulette might be a little safer.

That is unusual, Ausslander!
The closest I've seen a cat come to liking water is an old barn cat a friend of mine had on his farm who would fish live minnows out of a bait bucket and eat them.

No doubt, Whysper.
Dogs will not only do anything for food; they'll do anything if they even slightly believe food is involved.

This is such a good laugh and so well written I saw it all while I was
reading. I used to bath my Burmese baby and she could climb straight up a vertical, tile slippery wall to escape the suds.

A wonderful story, strat. From now on I will scan every tree looking for cat skeletons. Thank you.

We could not help it! At one point you had both my husband and I laughing.
I think it was when help couldn't be given because of laughing while reclining on the ground. LOL PS. Our cat Paws does not like a bath either.

Son had a similar experience with Pitiful years ago. She's been left dirty ever since.

This is a wonderful story! It made me remember when my son's cockatiel that attacked my sister-in-law, I was horrible, I couldn't move for laughing. sam

Quite fun
I never had any problem giving my cat a bath, the problem I had was getting the cat hair off my tongue aftward. Dogs are much easier. They don't like it, but if you convince them that food is involved they'll do most anything.
