I am used to people making generalizations...
about me for all sorts of reasons (being disabled, being bipolar, being a democrat...sort of anyway) It is not politically correct but everyone sems to do it. I wish we did not. There would be less communication and more copperation if we could break the habit.

I like this discussion, it makes on stop and think about generalizing. It could be dangerous.A very fine article. Any time the reader starts thinking you have done your job! sam

It's very easy to generalize... and sometimes it's a big mistake

I know an elderly french lady who has lived here in the States since she was about 30.

She went home to France for a visit right after 9/11, and was surprised at the anti-American sentiment there. She said that she told some of them "$%ck you, I'm an American!"
