I was a school administrator for many years and the one thing that was very clear to my kids was that there were no special privileges afforded to them because of my position. I can't say my fellow administrators were the same. But it goes to what you were saying about the parent taking responsibility for their child's behavior. Had I let my kids become spoiled, they would have had a false sense of reality. The parent needed to address the problem with the child more so than the handling of the incident. The child is learning far too early that they can make life miserable for anyone who opposes their actions. I would have preferred the teacher summon the parent to the classroom to pick it up in front of everyone, then they would understand the job for the teacher is to teach and the parent's job is personal grooming habits. sam
