Re: It's pretty disturbing
It came out of this whole flak over Michelle Obama's remark that she was "finally proud" of her country and Cindy McCain's response that she "has always been proud" of her country. The counter response from the Obama camp was that Mrs. McCain lived in "White America" and did not suffer the injustices suffered by "Black America".
Whatever the merits of the original comments, the last response certainly does not make me proud of my country.
By the way, it is well known that there are precious few racially pure Americans. Only problem is that firm documentation is lacking to either prove or disprove racial purity during the colonial period due to the American habit of storing munitions in churches and the British habit of dealing with this by burning the churches down along with all marriage and baptismal records therein.

It's pretty disturbing
that in this day and age there is still a discussion about colour going on. Fortunately, I'm colour blind.

I find it still amazing,
daily, color is seen as black and white. Your writing here leaves even more, fresh food for thought. ~Ely

thought-provoking piece.
I like how you de-politicized the issue of race in this commentary.
