Krisles...
I am shy as well, but every now and then I get carried away. A few years ago I even did the chicken dance. But I refused to do that damn YMCA thing to the Village People. I do have a little dignityl.

Sounds like a blast, Kris!
Actually, a good friend of mine and his girlfriend recently went on a cruise and talked about playing that -- sounded like a lot of fun. Hope you had a terrific time!

By the Way...
May I ask, what is "a season for writers"? I'll be eating my raw almonds.

Krisles, I had forgotten about this game--I think on purpose. I never did get my favorite black lace bra back.

A fascinating example of ‘time out’ behaviour! Life onboard, during a cruise or an Atlantic crossing, takes place in a small ‘self-contained world’ where many of the normal rules and restraints don’t operate. It’s like Mardi Gras in a way, more sustained, but still very temporary. People will engage in all kinds of crazy things they wouldn’t dream of doing in their normal lives. And the emcee plays on that, of course. It also makes shipboard romances such fun – as long as everybody sticks to the rules – it’s over when you get into port..

I can't believe you're shy!
OK, how can I get a job as an emcee for one of these gigs?! "Bring me a naked model doing cartwheels ... what? What game? We're playing a game?" This sounds like such fun. And I'm glad to hear that you are a fellow people-watcher. I watch from a distance, so's not to get contaminated. From your American Idol comment, we also have that thing where we're uncomfortable watching people embarrass themselves. So being a people-watcher and at the same time being uncomfortable watching people humiliate themselves is inevitably self abuse. Watch people long enough and they will eventually embarrass themselves :-)
Having said that, I better stop talking before it's too late. Very entertaining post, K.
