Mark and I fight like that
I think it's a typical reaction for a guy, to turn away and ignore your hurt feelings. They don't understand why we're hurt, and don't know what to say to make it "better". So they say nothing at all, and hope it all just goes away.
I do exactly what you do--run away to a quiet room, and then run much further in my mind--always to Bora Bora, although I don't even know where it is on the map!
Maybe I'll start heading for Maine instead, and meet you at the diner!

That is definitely NEVER a good thing, but for some reason I am beginning to see that every man I have ever been around does the "ignor" the woman thing when he is upset. Heck, my dad does it all the time, especially when he's watching tv. Not sure how/where they acquire these skills, but it's certainly there. I just think to myslef....and I hope I say this right....men are from mars, women are from venus, totally different thinking, etc....we just have to find a way to deal with it the best we can I guess. Also, some men really do say very mean things that are just so hurtful. Remember though, there are some women like this too. So, who wins? The winner is.......the person who can overcome, and not allow others to make them feel any way other than the way they wish to feel!!!!! Hope you're having a better day today.

I am always at a loss for words when it comes to this sort of thing! How can an outsider comment on the problems and complexities that arise in intimate relationships, beyond the most general platitudes? So I won't, and just tell you that I certainly hope things will work out for you two...

wow..so it was storming outside and you guys were storming inside.... that's tough. luckily..we don't fight too much anymore..but it is never fun when it happens. hang in there! thanks for stopping by my new site. u like it? i only changed cuz blogger tends to freeze up a lot and when you comment or try to do something...errors happen...so i decided to try wordpress for awhile and see how it goes...it's a little different...if you have your own domain and know css...u can be a lot more creative with the blog...but i am computer illiterate..and they have lots of templates anyway..so we shall see.
