Good on you, but...
I felt much like you do, only many moons ago. Now I'm a parent and even though I still feel the same way I think I understand their dilemma as well. You have two parents. If one makes a decision "on the fly" and the other disagree (depending on both their views on life in general) they are heading for an argument that is never good for you or them. So they'll probably try to stick to the same angle. They have to try and keep all their children happy all the time. From my own experience as parent that is simply not possible! I can keep on guessing your situation but the bottom line is: While we are all living in a society that treat us like sheep, you will always be at ods with control freaks, whether they are your parents or teachers or eventually your boss, especially if you are a more creative spirit, like you sure seem to be. Try to learn to tolerate the controllers while not loosing your free spirit. Difficult, I know. We can only try. Good luck!!!
