Re: I am not Jewish but I would love to celebrate such an event
From your photos I'd say you look Jewish. Could you be? Stranger things have happened. Anyway - you should ask some of your Jewish friends if you could come for a seder. We have non-Jewish friends to our seder each year and they love it. The prayer for the wine ends "Boray per-ree hagafen" and it's so funny how our non-Jewish friends know how to speak Hebrew - at least that part - by the fourth glass of wine!!

Re:
zen- my first serious boyfriend was Irish Catholic. I was 18 he was 21. He brought me to his house for Easter, and his parents were very nice to me. Didn't make a ham that year (they served turkey instead) due to my dietary prohibitions (which I don't adhere to, anyway). We went to High Mass or Easter Mass or whatever that's called and I was stunned to find that some of it overlaps with a synagogue service. Anyway, his parents were kind to me but, to my mortification, my parents were cold as ice to him. We broke up because I was a cheating whore (I think those were his words) and he never married after that. He, too is a lawyer - go figure!
Thanks for the Passover wishes. It will be great to have my whole family together and sitting down for a meal for a change. Mal

Happy Passover to you and your family. I had this long comment typed about five minutes ago.....I was getting ready to add it.......hit the wrong key...and it VANISHED. Here's the spark notes version of it:
My first lover was Jewish (I was 18, he was 24). He brought me to his house to celebrate Passover. I had no idea what it was. I remember I was wearing this totally funky nearly ankle length sweater jacket and JEANS. I should say here that I was an IRISH/CATHOLIC and his parents (mostly his Father-a circuit court Judge) shot me some frigid stares. I was only too happy to get out of that room (going upstairs so we could f*ck). I think he was using me to make a statement to his parents (of course I didn't know that THEN). I eventually broke up w/ him. I saw him about ten years later (he was a Lawyer, go figure), and he told me he couldn't BELIEVE that I broke up with HIM. He ended up dating ANOTHER Irish/Catholic and SHE dumped him also. And, sad to say, that's the extent of my exposure to Jewish tradition.
Again, I hope you have a wonderful, tradition-laden Passover. Namaste
