Azur
very wise words.  And, unless we women speak out and express ourselves, others will speak on our behalf.  And then, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Not to mention a lifetime of guilt of wanting, needing and liking sex.

Yes, I agree with your reworking
I think there is social pressure and stereotyping on women against revealing their enjoyment of sex and this prevents some from expressing their needs and desires, and means they don't find the fulfillment they could have discovered.

don't be afraid of judegement.  If you live your life according to your beliefs, what others think does not really matter.  It's your truth.  If they are uncomfortable, they need to ask themsleves why they are.  As long as you are comfortable with what you do and comfortable sharing it, please do.  However, no pressure!

Re: ZenMom
I feel comfortable right now (well, not RIGHT now..it's late and I'm kinda tipsy). I have NO problem sharing these lessons however, I have a feeling that many here would be uncomfortable (and perhaps judgemental.)

Actually one of the reasons this is said is because men produce semen around the clock, unlike women who ovulate once a month for 48 hours.

Purple Mermaid11, thanks for visiting.
What do you think of this discussion?

I do believe men have stronger sex drive than woman.
If I'm wrong I'm wrong, that's my opinion I do know there
are exceptions to this like everything.  Some men can
control their stronger urge and do so and I applaud these
men

I am assuming you are talking about Billy Crystal?

You make some very good points.

I like your re-working of the quote. My husband and I decided when we married to do away (as best we could) with those types of sexual stereotypes and this has made all the difference in our life. I wish I could share the lessons we have learned, but Americans are rather secretive and judgemental when it comes to sex and feel safer living with the stereotypes of which you speak.

This is as you say a very complex issue. I think that each individual has in mind the what and where and why and how of sex in their own mind. Certainly many people can fall into the same general schools of thought, but ultimately the physical act is a personal preference.

Interesting subject you have here. ~Peace, OTA
