THANK YOU everyone!
appreciate all the comments on this one. The more I think about it, Sam hit it right on the head. I just don't like to be alone at night for some reason, though I lived alone for many years before. I think it's also because I was always (even as a kid) on the second floor, which felt so safe. In my apartments before, when I was alone, I was on the second floor too. I think I'm still trying to get used to living on the first floor of any building! I hadn't thought of that too much before, but maybe it's just all an adjustment. Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

Oh don't fear ~ please ... Keep in touch with whomever you can (if even here) so you'll find security or serenity as the time passes. Sad, for ya' but, I also know you'll be fine ~

I can't add anything, because all the sound advice has already been given to you by my blogger friends who read you prior to me. But, where does your insecurity come from? Give that a thought whilst you do all the other sensible things suggested to you.

Lock the doors, get some popcorn (or beer) and watch movies or play music. When tired, go to bed, hugging a baseball bat! Lol

Is it because the country is unsafe where you are or because he chose
to go alone? I say since you have time to yourself, invest it in things that feed your soul...enjoy the culture, go to a bookstore, a gallery, take a bubble bath, write, spend time here and we'll keep you from being lonely. I hope you're safe and that fears will be laid to rest
