I'm afraid of hurricans. They 'clean' a bit too much for me. I visited the Caymans just after Ivan had hit and it was heartbreaking. However a good hard rain is refreshing. Thanks so much for your comment on 'nanny'.

The thunder...
Bouncing, echoing down our valley, ricocheting off the mountains, so powerful, and yet....

The upside of storms
I like the way you described it. But storms are still scary to me!

Hi Krisles
I'll come back for a read, but I thought that your question in my blog was too important to be missed. See the answer here

Now I know we're kin...
I love, love, love sitting on a porch, safe under wysteria and box woods, watching, listening, smelling a good storm. Nothing better!

Krisles
Indeed, storms can be exciting and electrifying (pun fully intended, lol)...I also like a storm on my boat - not out on the water, but tied up at the dock, snug in the cabin, rocking gently, listening to the wind, the water slapping the hull, and the halyards ringing against the mast...

Oh, Kris, those types of storms terrify me........................
I've been watching those storms on tv and my thoughts go out to those exposed to them. I do wish you well.
I love the description and intensity you've given your post. It's great. Last weekend Sally, her daughter, and granddaughter were here for the night. I just wanted to let you know she's doing well, says she spends eight hours a day on the computer with her work and just can't bring herself to get on when she gets home. She is settled again into an apartment and dearly loves it, her hours for work are 3:30-12:00 so by the time she sleeps and gets up, her time is keeping up her apartment and spending time with her kids and grandkids. She seems to be doing really well in light of that significant heart attack she had in September. I so enjoy her visits, we have fun.
Thanks for stopping by to see me. I appreciate you.

I like storms too
Sometimes it's just a good excuse to sit, be still, and watch the world slow down around you.
