Whacky, I haven't been able to balance my checkbook since I started using a debit card years ago. I was always "right on" before that. Now, I'm satisfied with "close".

I've never been good at balancing the checkbook...
mostly because I don't keep up the register. Thank The Lord for online banking.

Vigilance is required with a checking account. I think the way banks operate they promote check bouncing with the timing of their business day. I am excited for you that you balanced, it is indeed rare when all money and checks are in. I only pay bills with my checking account and life is much easier. sam (Hi Bo)
