"So, I booked myself on the next stage out of town
And with my cane in my hand, and my top hat tipped
to the setting sun"
This scence here I loved it...I can just see the picture soo clearly..This is a master class in imagery..Awesome work John!

I am with Sam, the images are great, but knowing you...hmmmm I have a feeling these are quite literal, I can see you feeding the pigeons annd dancing (
naked?) under the trees... and then getting upset at their lack of atention :-) Just teasing, it is a great poem and I want you to know that if I would have been there gulping your last cracker down I would have flown to you afterwards and give you a soft peck on the face. (
even as a pigeon I would remember my manners loll )

With cane and tipping your hat reminded me of Bat Masterson! I like this poem, it has a ton of imagery! sam
