Donnie was born, "hatched" (?) or he possibly broke out of his pod, in 1977. That makes him 31years old, but no wiser than when he took his first steps, back in 1982!
I heard Donnie tell his son, that if D.J.'s experience with high school was similar to his own, it would be the BEST eight years of his whole life! After high school, it was going to all be downhill, with a tailwind, for the rest of his life! Just because Donnie says something, it doesn't necessarily mean that everything he says is automatically bullshit!

OUCH!!! I am not a drinker, but if only these folks could see how this altered state infringes on others. It would seem to me that if one decides to get sh*t-faced they would do it where they can be safe. Putting a car in the ditch could have given him serious injuries. I think you and Marilyn are blameless, his woes are directly influenced by his life style choices. For me, I believe you have made a great decision to not help. Aid at this point would only be enabling his behavior. Much good luck to you. sam
