I was about to disagree with you because I believe even without fame, notoriety, or our faces remembered in classic movies, we do leave a legacy. Each time we’ve loved, every time we make our children smile, each kind gesture we extend leaves an imprint – our imprint – on another human being. That is our legacy. But then, when you said “ When the last person that remembers me dies, it will be no different than if I had never been born” I kind of went hummphhh – he’s got a point.

I admit that I've done the equivalent of being in a b western. I wrote for a local alternative weekly whose audience was 18-22 year old frat boys.
