One need not use the word 'victim' to try and paint themselves as being the victim. The Oil Companies have been painting themselves as victims in this, while not using that word. They are trying to seem sympathetic as they practically beg to get people to over look the multi-billion dollar profits as the economy falls apart. And I found it very telling that all of the Oil companies have admitted that he prices really shouldn't be that high but they seem to not be willing to do anything to try and bring them down.
I am glad to see you admit that you are one of those who helped put Bush in office. I am unsure as to how you can get up in the morning without an over whelming feeling of shame weighing you down. Although it has been openly admitted that one of the major reasons as to why gas prices has gotten so high is because of baseless paranoia about the supply and demand of oil right now. The actual real demand is not high enough to justify such high prices and that has nothing at all to do with any energy legislation out there. Now I agree with the needless spending issue here, since that is all that Iraq has become and is the number 1 reason as to why the country has gone into such great debt. I am not worried about our boarders, since the whole illegal alien thing is blown way out of proportion. And the domestic oil issue is really rather silly, since to for the most part to make such increases would most likely greatly harm the environment while not creating any substantial amount of oil to really justify such harm.

As a conservative, I'm having trouble taking this seriously!
Oil companies as victims? I've heard that uttered by only one person, the noted conservative Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California), and derisively at that.
And, yes, I did vote for Bush, both times. And I hold him responsible for signing into law the 2007 energy legislation that gave us the ethanol boondoggle and contributed mightily to $4.00 a gallon ga$. I also hold him responsible for failure to more aggressively secure the borders, for signing massive needless spending, and for failing to secure increased production of domestic oil.
If you have any issues with the facts I share on my three opinion blogs, you are absolutely welcome to post refutations of them.
