Re: Hi Mal Great Read!
Norwood - there are plenty of people in my town who have a second home in Israel - most in Jerusalem, but some in Tel Aviv. Unless you've been there, you don't understand the appeal.

Hi Mal Great Read!
If only people knew some of the real facts about Israel and what she has suffered. I love the place spent 8 years of my life in total there and once I have the money and am a world famous writer / screen writer I will go back there. Always say my ideal lifestyle would be six months in Israel and six months in Australia Melbourne. In fact it would be hard to make the decision.
lOVE jERUSALEM I often felt overwhelmed by the city almost too holy to live in it.

Zen-
I can't claim credit for this piece. It was written by a non-Jewish British journalist. A first for a country where the media is typically pro-Palestinian.

Mal. You wrote "Radical Islam is never going to accept the concept of an Israeli State, so the struggle is likely to continue for another sixty years."
I have a feeling it will be MUCH longer than 60 years. Sometimes, (to me, at least), it seems futile. I know if I lived there, I'd be packing up my family and looking for some other place to live.
This was a good read. I know so little re: Jewish history. (Remember, the only exposure I've had is one Jewish guy who sucked in bed........<grin>.)
