After all, what he finds first is legally his. And he already told you that, even before he tangled his tail.

I'm sorry but... I'm laughing too hard...oh my goodness, but I can see this...have a couple of dogs that are like obsessive compulsive with their balls, rocks --- you name it. Oh poor Bo ~ and I'm sorry for your dilemma. You'll get it eventually, but then again, why? ---- balls go in and out of the courts onto the streets, woods, you name it...ahhh...they'll never miss it.
