I'm dropping in here, wondering how it is possible that I have missed you all this time. (Actually, it's easily explained: lack of time prevents me from roaming much in Blogit.) Anyway, I just added another couple of bookcases to the ones I have all over the house, because I am a compulsive buyer and hoarder of books...

I like to promote writers --- I really do love bookstores --- and I do buy more than I can read ~ as you --- Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and many local bookstores --- I get lost for hours in a bookstore...its like I get drawn in - and yes, claim euphoria while going from book to book, aisle to aisle..so I have to discipline myself ---

and buy gifts to gift others ---

I can't remember the last time I visited a library!
Having said that, I don't believe I've every seen one on the island! In any case I always prefer to buy then I can read them as often as I like - besides I am an avid book collector; I love the smell and feel of books just as much as the reading! Take care and have a blessed weekend my friend

Depends on who wrote the book and if I know that I will re-read it again..I find that I only keep first editions and try to have them signed when I can..Otherwise my friend and I always switch books so that there is a never ending supply and nobody ever really has to pay to much..

It depends on the books
if it's like a series(ie. Lord of ther Rings, Harry Potter) I keep them. Or if it's a book that I like and know I will read again, I'd rather purchase it.

Buying books is nice
Talking them up on blogs or in conversation is great, too. I always ask friends what they are reading - and get lots of ideas that way.
