My daughter is an iced coffee fan! I like mine black and hot. If you are too busy to post new stuff, what are your thoughts on a repost of Judy? I would love to read it again but can never find the time to go deep into blogs! sam

Hot coffee, iced coffee
strong or weak, with cream or sugar, or just black. Coffee smoothies, coffee flavored ice cream...
If it's got coffee in there somewhere, I'm drinking it!
I think, like Naut said, the chains have made it popular here--especially in the summer months when we're all looking for a cooler way to get that caffeine buzz!

It's great that things are working out so well with your FIL, I know you were worried.
As to that iced coffe thing: in summer it's BIG here, especially in the chains, such as our quintessentially Canadian Tim Hortons. They sell what they call 'Iced Mocha' or 'Iced Capuccino' in large paper cups, and you drink it through a straw. On a hot summer day it can actually be quite refreshing...

good question! and as a fellow yank...hmm... i think it never used to be popular, but now with the frappe's at starbucks... i guess the ice coffee has taken off in the N. America. Good luck with FIL and work... call me if you need a rant!

I must have sensed that you were talking to me, because your post was the first I read after I had finished my own. No, Turks would never drink iced tea. They drink hot tea all day long and their strong sweet coffee only after meals. When living in America I noticed the penchant for iced tea which I personally dislike but I love iced coffee. Interesting topic though, the drinking habits of different cultures. You have quite a week ahead of you, dear. I wish you all the best, come back when you can.
