Funny that you mention thongs. In Australia thongs are flip flop foot attire which is very summer but also provokes some cross cultural confusion. Of course rather than baseball we have cricket wherein a test match goes for five days and, after all that time, can culminate in a drawer.

Baseball...
Is it coincidence or what? I listened to a baseball game tonight and on You Tube I watched a video of Steve Goodman singing "A dying Cub fan's last request." But the rainstorms here and cool weather have us wondering whether we will ever have to weather summer weather!?
