Re: Re:
Wikipedia s not a very reputable source for information. In fact Colbert, that popular night show host on comedy central used their system of getting entries on various topics to reveal their idiotic method. The show is called THE COLBERT REPORT! I believe youtube has a video on the incident! Remember Colbert who was asked to do a guest appearance and screwed Bush.... in his presence!...... I just tried to get the video with Stephen Colbert but it is UNAVAILABLE. Wikipedia is user edited. This means anyone can write what they want. It is not experts telling us the news!

Re:
TAPS, thank you so much for your comment. I know exactly what you mean. In the book Why Are All The Black Students Sitting Together in the Cafeteria, Tatum coincludes that, for those schools in which segregation plays a role, high levels of action counseling need to be in place.
For my own school, I envision a simple plan by which teachers look for discomfort in individuals and small groups of children -- here I mean mixed ethnic groupings of children who are fighting, name-calling, or playfighting -- and reporting what they see. Counselors are available and always looking for someone to help by talking. Thanks for commenting!

Kingmi, as late as 1975, Kansas City was still struggling with this school system problem. My two youngest children were still in an all-white grade school in an all white neighborhood. The KC School System was trying to comply with Fed regulations so they would not lose funding. My two sons in this grade school, both with high academic and social skills were invited to participate in an "exchange program" with a school such as that described in your post. One of them wanted to stay where he was, but the other volunteered to be a part of the exchange program. What a farce it was. Son was bussed every morning to that school where he and the other "white" children were placed in a separate mixed class, away from all the other children and treated in a "special" way. The school was then counted as desegregated because there was one class with "white" children in it. Even on the playground his class was isolated from the other children. I'm sure that the lessons that he learned as a student in that class and the lessons that I and my husband learned as parents, were not the lessons they intended for us to learn. How can anyone focus on that one comment made by Obama's wife and not understand what she was trying to say?

Re:
Soul Builder101, Here is what I get when I google NWO.
The idea of a covert plan to create a New World Order (Novus Ordo Mundi) refers to what several scholars consider to be one of the most widespread conspiracy theories. The allegations, which cut across political and social boundaries, describe a powerful and secretive group alleged to be plotting to eventually rule the world via an autonomous world government, which would replace sovereign states and other checks and balances in world power struggles. In this conspiracy theory, many significant occurrences are said to be caused by a powerful secret group or groups. Historical and current events are seen as steps in an on-going plot to rule the world primarily through a combination of political finance, social engineering, mind control, and fear-based propaganda.[1][2][3][4][5]

Can you explain your comment in this light?

Schools are dependant upon property taxes.
the higher the values, the more $ goes into them.
living across the river from the area you mention, I know of the richer areas and the poorer areas and the great contrast between them.
Mrs. Obama is right, though. The selection of her husband as the Democratic nominee for president is a milestone.
And, although many similar milestones have been laid down, there is still a long way to go.
The problem is that too many don't recognize this.
Listen to the conservative voices on Blogit and elsewhere.
They just don't see.
