LOL, it's kinda amusing to me, too, as we're taught folklore at school and (understandably) such details are usually left out as not to hurt our fragile souls... and maintain a decent reputation of our ancestors ;)
Anyhow, I'm thinking of finding some more Latvian myths like this and sharing them with you here on Blogit.

Oh my! I absolutely LOVED this myth!!!!!!!!! I am a big fan of any kind of myth and legend and found this one truly wonderful! It gets my mind rolling about my story I used to write about the sun and moon...perhaps I will continue with its story someday. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!!

BTw, my dear, please dont apologize on the comment you left at my blog. I appreciate so much your kind advice. But I dont have (never had) a drinking problem. There was a time when i would drink during heavy rainy days, but it was never a medical issue dear. It was just too long ago since the last time i had a drink and it was only that day again when i tried to drink again, but didnt even finish the bottle. Thank you so much my dear. And i am deeply sorry about your mother dear.
