Auslander, I'd probably still visit Vienna, if I was able to tour Europe..
Its a shame the city has been torn the way it has by war and "patched over" architecturally..I'd still be taking pictures left and right......

Thank you. Now I know I can save myself the rip. My dad went to the opera ball, religiously, every year, heaven knows why. Of course I read you, let's dry our tears together. Those who really count don't forget us!!

Yep Nautikos, that is what I mean, 7 000 Euros and it is not the most expansive of seats (the balcons are more than that, if you believe the guide).

I wonder if Vienna, like so many cities, reveals its true charm only after longer acquaintance...But did you actually mean 7,000 Euros, that's what, about 12,000 bucks, for a ticket to the Viennese Ball???
