I've seen nothing that suggest Obama can't do it. I've seen everything to suggest that McCain is not up to the task..

So, no I don't want a man who can't run the country.  We already have such a person in office and I don't want a another version of him, but one who is far less likely to have clue one as to what is going on around him.

So if it came down to who could do the job, you gotta vote Obama over McCain any day.

Jane, I could not have said it better. In my life, I have supported every conservative Republican. I wanted Condi to run bad, Colin is a social liberal to me but I also wanted J.C. Watts to run and I have voted for Alan Keyes numerous times including, as recently as, this presidential primary. Liberals have always liked to call Republicans racists. I have liberal bloggers on here constantly calling me a racists because I supported Jesse Helms. I am for the true conservative no matter what color because they stand for my values and beliefs. So that eliminates every Democrat.

As for Kooka's post, I would have to say:

Do we want a man who cannot run our country? That would be Hussein Obama.

I've never tried to play the race card for either side on the Obama issue.  Although I do know for a fact that there are those who don't like him just because he is black as well as there being those who are going to vote for hi just because he is black.  But that is as meaningless to me as what party he is aligned with, which is what I think is the bigger discrimination that is taking place.

I am still waiting to see McCain present anything that shows he could even handle the job of president.  So far he basically sounds like he'll do nothing at all.  Seriously, from what he has been saying he will just sit back and let everything keep on going as it has been, which means record high unemployment levels, record high national debt, wasting money in a war with Iraq and basically letting the big corporations get tax breaks at every turn without doing anything to encourage them to help rebuild or weakened economy.  That is what the Bush legacy has given us and that seems to be what McCain wishes to follow.

All of what Obama keep saying sounds like what this country needs. Get us out of Iraq and get us focused on fixing the problems her at home.  Look into investing in long term solutions to our energy problem, instead of allowing wasteful drilling that will do nothing real to help us out and will only help to keep us dependant on foreign oil for decades to come.  Get taxes so that we are not rewarding the ultra wealthy just because they are wealthy, and instead make it so the working class has a chance.  Start finding ways to pay off the national debt instead of building it up.

When I look at the plans of McCain vs. the plans of Obama, it seems clear to me that Obama is actually going to try and fix our problem while McCain won't do a damn thing.

Kooka, if that's true, it's a horrid way to talk to a spouse; I hope he

apologized to her!!

But that said, from my perspective, McCain is the lesser of two evils.  I think even you might live to regret the day Obama wins office (were that to happen).  And before you say it's because I'm racist -- wrong!  I would love to see a Colin Powell or Condy Rice or even someone a little more liberal.  But Obama -- NOT.
