Bel, Thank you for sharing all this. There is some good stuff in here that should be able to help just about anyone in one way or another. Can't stress the exercise enough.

Re: geez...am I the only one that says "pop" and not "soda"?
"Pop" can mean anything. Soda, to most peple, means one thing.

I've been to Lafayette. Some college friends and I took a road trip to a frat step show (it was in the Cajundome if I remember correctly) and the countless parties afterward.
Asking for a coke shouldn't be too much of a problem. Asking for blow might lead to complications...

Re: Bel
Hey Talion,
I have to say eating is one of my favorite hobbbies. I lived in Lafayette LA and many called it soda water there. I have been warned that in certain parts of the country asking for a coke, one could end up with just about anything!

One of the reasons I've stayed thin all my life is I don't particularly like eating. Sure, I love food, but eating is basically a big pain in the neck. If they came up with a pill that had all the vitamins and nutrients a person needed to stay healthy, I'd be the first in line for it.
On a side note, here in Memphis, many people call soft drinks Coke, regardless of the actual brand or flavor. In New Orleans, a common term was cold drink.

They call it pop here Shelly, but given I spent enough time in the south, I call it soda!

Sound advice, Bell
I lost thirty pounds in the past few years, ten of them within the past few weeks by substituting water and juices...oh, and booze, of course...for the soda I love so much and limiting my carbs.
My congratulations to you on regaining your figure...

Re: Bel
Troosha,
I definately see it all as a blessing. While I might not like how it unfolded, I am grateful for all the good that has come from it.

Albeit it sounds like it took a great deal of heartache for you to finally take the time to discover "you", perhaps it was a blessing in disguise. Good for you for
doing the work... most people want instant results and aren't prepared to roll up their sleeves and make some changes.

Re: Gratz on your weightloss
Thank you Harderup. I have accepted it as lesson and growth in my life. I had two choices let it get me down and destroy me or step up and make changes. The changes seemed like the better choice.
