A strong and ...
... vital poem that gives consciousness about very important parts of life - parts that should be focused, and done "something" about, for the sake of all of us - I get a feeling of powerlessness when I read poems like this but, that feeling helps me to be more aware - thanks -  - genio

This reminds me ......

..... of how I have come to believe, as life has shown me, that there are some wounds that no time, space, person or remedy can EVER heal. I call them the 'tattoos of the Soul', and I know I will be taking many of them into the next realm.  But some things such as this we have no control over whatsoever.  We are who we are from beginning to end....

ps. after not being here for almost a year I have only just noticed your comment on my blog back in April,,,thankyou, always nice to find someone who relates.  Regards

It is difficult indeed! I lost a brother-in-law to agent orange, 30 years after the fact! So sad. My son is currently serving and it is a nightmare for. We sent them in as young men and they are changed forever and so am I. Great thoughts! sam

Winged
I had a brother-in-law who returned from Vietnam – to other siblings were then protesting the war.  No ticker tape parade and only continual nightmare to live with.  He did kill himself but he slowly drank himself to death (I suppose that’s the same thing).  Those who return from a war – any war – have such atrocities they must live with.  I can’t imagine….  Powerful write!
