Naut, I would suggest something with a nice big screen... for your aging eyes, of course...
and something with 7-9 megapixels (more than this are generally of no use to a hobby photographer). When, eventually, I get one, I will be looking for something that allows the most flexibility in handling diverse lighting conditions, and has a huge wide-angle/zoom range. And it will have to have a manual I can make sense of.

Again, I come in 'after the fact', as it were, but the pictures look fantastic, as I think all yours do, and I hope you sold a lot! And talking of pictures, I may find the time to go this week and look for a digital SLR - any advice?
