Yes, Sam, it IS awful,
It is killing more people than AIDS. It can start out from a small cut or break in the skin. Just be aware of it! Thanks for reading!

I thought of you as I typed this since you were a nurse. My Aunt, healthy and in her 80s, chose a slower but non-invasive therapy over surgery for a shoulder injury just for the reasons you listed. Thanks for coming by!

LadyCeeMarie, To me the picture is interesting instead of ewww because I am a nurse and have a lot of experience inserting the little wicks. That looks so very painful. Great post but I'm sorry that, once more, you have had to experience something scary. It is chancy, and often unhealthy to be around hospitals and hospital germs. I haven't been sick with an infection of any kind since I retired.
