Basic grits are much like nothing! They begin to come alive with all the additives beginning with rich country butter. I think it may be America's most misunderstood food, think I'll write about them. Loved your comment, be blessed.

So colorful, and lots of wonderful flavors in there. Must have been really good. I don't think I have ever cooked grits, but I have eaten them a time or two when traveling southward. They sure didn't look like that though.
