I chose not to have biological children which most people never quite got about me. I love my daughter but she is not mine biologically, I can't tell you how many people have asked me "don't you want one of your own?" I fnd it totally insulting.

Noting wrong with being honest about not wanting to have childrem, it's a heck of a lot better than having kids you didn't want.

Strange... and why would they want to talk to your kids?

What could a child so young possibly have to contribute to a conversation?

I am with you c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-l-y! Luckily, there are no young mothers in my circle who could inflict their brats on me (nor would they, probably; I think they do that only to other women.) They do inflict their children on me in public, though, particularly at the supermarket, where I have seen and heard the little monsters do and say things that would make your blood curdle...

I'm with you all over this...

I never signed up for the mom gig...which is weird as I think most women have that maternal instinct, but I have thought about it and I do have my ideas as to why mine's missing!

That sounds really annoying... just tell her... nicely :-) If she is your friend she will understand and you won't have to resent her for making you do something you don't want to do.
