Okay, it turns out you're not joking.  I looked it up.  Time Magazine has a bit about this.  Sarah Palin did inquire about how to ban books from a public library because someone objected to "inappropriate language", and threatened to fire the librarian if she didn't cooperate fully.  This is just my opinion, but I doubt there is such a thing as "inappropriate language" for a public library, at least in written form.

The article also makes Palin sound like a political opportunist, and not a reformer.  She just used the terminology of reform to get into power on the heels of a huge scandal.  A scandal she may have been connected to, in fact.  The more I hear about her actions in office, the less respect I have for her.
