exactly, Pat_B, and thanks for the long and thoughtful response.

It was my point exactly, that the most qualified woman, the one who would do the most GOOD for our nation and its money and future is not acceptable because of who she loves and not for any other thing. Well, that and being a Democrat. Hee hee hee hee hee

Kabu, thanks, I try to get the facts straight and not just write prejudiced things, but we are all prejudiced, no?

Lovely comparison and contrast. You make many good points.

I must admit I'd never heard of your Gov. Napolitano. If what you say is accurate, then I must agree with your assessment. Ms. Palin is cute and charismatic, she talks trash with a right-wing bias, smiles broadly as she lobs a broadside. Too many of us fall for the myth that beauty equals goodness. I think the barracuda label says a lot, and not necessarily a compliment.

As for Napolitano as a gay woman, there's no way McCain could have named her as his running mate. The party would have tarred and feathered him and run him out of town on a rail. The fanatical right wing would have none of that, no matter how qualified she is. It's a case of cutting off the nose to spite the face.  Pitiful! Shortsighted! Dumb!

Re: applying thought to political assessments.....

robdon67, I appreciate that you took the time to read and then to comment and that you liked what I wrote.

I try to keep things in some perspective and I really am open minded, tho' I might appear to be Obama prejudiced after this past month.

It is just that we Americans have grown so weary of the Washington, D.C. deep and sticky political mud which hold old politicos in their places, unable to move nor to innovate. Greed drives everything and that is exhausting.

Thanks for this post. Even though I'm in Australia I'm interested in American politics and particularly enjoy hearing people who apply some thought to their political assessments.
