I need silence and solitude and I dislike unexpected visitros too. But your situation is really bad. Ever tried earplugs?

North
You're so right that solitude is highly under-rated. It's right up there with water. We need it to surivive! Maybe you need to find a peaceful place out of the home where you can just "be".

Venting!
Venting helps delay the day that I will go postal, but it changes NOTHING! I would rather remain silent and take comfort in the knowlege that one day, my tormentors will finally all stop making noise! I hope to live long enough to be able to enjoy it. Ivy and DJ are about 8 & 10, and offspring (emphasis on OFF!) of this tribe appear to leave to fold at about the age of 30 or so, and then I may have some peace.
Now I just have to figure out how to deal with one last tormentor, and by about the age of 88, I will be one very "happy chappy!"
