to paraphrase a bit...
The liturgy was made for Man, not Man for the liturgy.
If it no longer serves, then it's time to move on to what does. I suspect that as in so many things, there will be people with strong feelings on both sides of the question. Maybe the church could schedule two different kinds of worship service to accomodate the different ways people are able to feel closer to God.

I never understood such practices myself but
then again I've never practiced that form of religion. I've learned that I have a closer relation with God when I do my own connection.
