That's true, but I'd rather much remember such important events considering how much she takes care of me. I guess it's to show my appreciation and how much I'm happy being with her.

rather than the alternative...Wife would have done well to express the importance this held for her a week prior and the two of you could have made some plans together..It is good to remember that sometimes people forget :)
