Re:
Krisles - first of all, thanks for commenting. Though we are polar opposites when it comes to this election. I was a Hillary girl; living within minutes of New York State - she has proven to be a selfless and tireless worker in the Senate, reaching across the aisle on crucial matters such as pollution and energy. That aside, Palin has few friends in Alaska (and with this new news of her alleged affair with her husband's business partner, her "loving wife" status called into question) and what I consider an inflexible outlook on life. I'm from the East coast, but lived in Texas (Nacogdoches and Houston) for 5 years and I'm married to a guy from Murfreesboro, TN, so I can discuss cultural differences in the US with some experience. If McCain had wanted his VP candidate to be taken seriously, and was serious himself about picking a woman with vast experience - he would have chosen the Governor of my own state (a woman McCain stumped for, actually) - M. Jodi Rell. She has been steering Connecticut with a firm, fair and educated hand. However - since McCain needed to assuage the Evangelical Right, he couldn't pick Rell - a woman who On
April 20,
2005, signed into law
a bill that made Connecticut the first state to adopt
civil unions for
same-sex couples without being directed to do so by a court. The law gives
homosexual couples all of the 300+ rights, responsibilities, and privileges that the state gives to
heterosexual couples, including the
right to adopt children. Palin was so against this kind of fairness, she zoned out when Biden called her on it during the debate! Talk about body language!

I am a student of human nature....and am always fascinated with the differences in the ways people perceive the same experience. I'm somewhat a winker myself, so Palin's wink in the debate didn't bother me at all....I liked it, of course....but what I was most fascinated about was when I read Ciel's comment - her description of:
I think she is a power-player, inflexible in her own opinions and beliefs, and willing to say, or seem anything that puts power into her hands. I don't think she wants to be vice president or president in order to make the world a better place. I think she wants it so she can remake the world in her own image of the Ideal. ....is EXACTLY what I have always said about Hillary! Only I've always added additional words like cold and calculating versus cutie-or sweetie-pie. That we feel the same way, but about two such opposite people is what is so interesting to me....that's the power of paradigms.....and what makes people so fascinating. And that we can judge so much from body language is a whole other subject, isn't it? Someone who has been on the scene for such a short time....that really is interesting.......but, body language is important and we all do it. Anyway, didn't mean to blather on for so long, it just struck me because of Ciel's comment mainly.

Oh Mal, I knew you would not be a winking kind of gal either. I love your little tidbits spread throughout. Say, I am just learning about your faith and I don't which greeting to use to express the best during this holiday period. May I have a little education via your blog if that will work. I would love to extend the proper greeting if that is appropriate. Thank you so much. sammy

I can't vote for such a cutey-pie...
sorry, I just can't see putting her that one little heartbeat from leading the Free World.
I heard someone today liken her to Gidget... But honestly, I don't think she is cute or sweet. I think she is a power-player, inflexible in her own opinions and beliefs, and willing to say, or seem anything that puts power into her hands. I don't think she wants to be vice president or president in order to make the world a better place. I think she wants it so she can remake the world in her own image of the Ideal.
McCain stopped being a viable candidate for me when he chose Palin. I might have risked him. I can't risk her.
