I used to take my mother to Denny's for Breakfast because she loved breakfast at Denny's after my Dad was no longer with her.

I go and leave Davy in the car, but I take him the sausage and bacon off my breakfast, stuff I should not be eating anyway. It makes him happier about waiting for me, indulging my indulgence.

Naut, they have some tasty whole-grain bread these days,
at least in this area. I wonder what it's like in the Midwest, where last time I went there, they only offered white or brown at most places.
There is maybe more good bread in the Northwest than coffee... which is also offered, in those places, in the same options.

Great fun! Every now and then I treat myself to a breakfast at Denny's, feeling deliciously guilty...

Me too--where's my coat...?
When my son-in-law's mum was visiting from England--where the cost of living is going through the ceiling--I took her to Denny's for breakfast, and she was totally thrilled with the food and especially that the both of us ate for under $20--at home, she said, each meal would have cost that, or more!
She has since moved to Cyprus.
