Way too many, Whacky.  I was just interrupted by one while I was reading your post here.

Naut
I love your suggestion of "Wait a minute someone's at the door".  That's clever....

Wacky
Political recordings!?!?  That's bizarre.  We don't have that here in Canada (thank goodness because I too would be pushing buttons like a freak or shouting into the phone).

I get at least ten per day of foolish recordings. Ugh! I empathize with you! They drive me nuts! Hey Bo! sam

I know what you mean - I get home from work, and sometimes the message is a recording-delete. And yes annoying too is that phone call where I start saying hello back or no thanks, realizing it's a recording again, CLICK-(I hang up frustrated) it's a waste of my time. Solicitors are out of control. Enough is enough.

Whacky
I get my share of recordings! But on my machine I can stop any message from continuing, including recordings. And if I get a call from a live someone who wants to sell me widgets or a timeshare in Costa Rica, and I tell them I don't want a widget and I also have no plans for going to Costa Rica but they go on anyway, I say, "Wait a moment, there's someone at the door," and I put down the receiver and go about my business, and let them wait...and wait... and a pat for =^..^=,

I like you only answer the calls I want to. If I pick up and a recording asks me to wait for an important call I just hang up.. If it was really important they would call back. There has to be a way to block unwanted calls.  lol this is a recording.  M

Not being in America yet, I don't, but I feel for your frustration. It's just disgusting. Thanks for reading me so often. A hug for you and the wonder dog.

Whacky, yes, all too many...they are a plain nuisance and I often wonder
what would happen if a flippin recording blocked out an emergency call..grrr...not a pleasant feeling at all....

I totally sympathize Whacky they are such a nuisance... I hate to answer the phone and hear: " We have an important call for you..."  Darn it , if you have such an important call get on the phone and make it, don't use a machine...  I just hang up the minute I know is a machine... I figure that if they want to talk to me the least they can do is do it in person.  Great post!
