I would love to see more truth! I wonder at times when I hear a person said one thing and then learn it has been another way in a different setting! You pose great questions! sam

Who, indeed? Is there one who always speaks the truth? Is there one who never waffles? Sometimes it's hard to tell.

The nature of a popularity contest
is such that it often precludes honesty

OTA, I think both the candidates want to speak truth,
and I think Obama handles his handlers better--so from time to time he does. But there is always someone with twisted panties who jumps on some percieved flaw in the packaging and ignores the content of what he is saying. Hence the whole business with his 'guns and religion' remark.
Likewise, Michelle Obama's remark that for once she could feel proud of America--An honest and true expression of hope, in an atmosphere of great disappointment in leadership and direction of the past several years. Decades, even.
Like her, I do not feel proud of much that bears the American label!

Ex Turpi,
some of us would, but not enough. The ones who don't mince words, who usually state their case straight out are the third party candidates, and some of them have had truths I could agree with--but this year, not a one had any chance of ousting the Republicans from the White House.

That is how it should be. Unfortunately, we would not reward such honesty with our votes.
