Re: Sam
Thank you - on the morning I wrote this I passed a traffic jam that stretched as far as I could see  and it instantly became the embodiment of stagnation... the poem formed from that

Re: Merkie
Thank you - I think some changes of thought are sinking deeper into my brain at the moment and being more fully expressed in my rhymes

Re: Krisles
Wow, thank you so much - I am so glad that this poem resonated so well with you.  It is easy to feel obliged to pay somebody else's parking, the truth is that you are not responsible for any other adult personality and I truly believe that assuming responsibility for them is harmful to you both.

Re: Lion
I am with you there Troosha... but if it was easy we probably wouldn't value it

Re: Smittenheimer
me too - the quiet path is a harder one to start with, although I believe it gets easier as you get further down it

Second comment
I inadvertently added MsRefusenik to my previous comment; apologies for that, I was actually reading that blog before this one and recommend it to everyone!

Such truth: And the gridlock of "always was";  So exquisite! So poignant and so revealing! Love the affirmation too! sam

How wonderfully you worded truly inspiring thoughts.....I love the idea of the quiet path and try to find it often.  The line that resonated most for me, I think, was And the car park of poor mental health...my husband has been parked there all of his life, with an official permit for over 17....I finally couldn't park beside him any longer and left but am still feeding his meter - oh dear, I can't seem to stop the analogy.....like I said, it resonated deeply.  Anyway, thanks for this....I will be thinking on it for quite awhile.

Lion
A wonderful message, so wonderfully expressed.  If only finding that "quiet path" was that easy....
