Re: Lion
Thanks Troosha - me too.  I think I have some growing to do before that kind of relationship can be a reality, but I am working on that

Re: I found this really moving
Thank you very much.  It is important to me that my work is accessible because the meaning is the important thing - the verse is mostly a way to communicate it

Re: Luz_Briar
Thank you - I have had relationships like the first stanza's and they have all failed.  Now I am hoping for one like the second

Absolutely genio, as soon as you need your partner to feel whole you begin to kill the fires

Lion
“Uninspired” love is kind of stagnant place to be.  Your second verse conveys your longing for something deeper and more meaningful.  I hope you find it or can create it.

I found this really moving
and your verses are so accessible which I believe poetry really should be. Thanks also for you comment on my blog.

And we might find a way to be
More in love than we ever knew

This is a wonderful close with such strength! It truly made the poem very effective in producing awesome imagery with the references to one another! sam

Yes ... that's right ...

... both independent 'cause, then the fire can burn without being dependent of the other one to keep it alive ... that makes projections and blaming and; it's the start of turning off the fire, and love - - genio
