ammon, interesting perspective there
Fashion is not my thing at all, so I really didn't notice the dress. But from what we have seen I do think Michelle Obama is going to make waves and be noticed.

What did you think about Michelle Obama’s Devilish Dress?
This dress that Michelle Obama displayed in Grant Park, during Barack’s acceptance rally was clearly a statement of her individualism. With this expressive attire, Michelle sent a clear and distinct message that she will not be spending her time as first lady assimilating historical culture. On the contrary, expect Michelle to be openly expressive of herself, her opinions, and her culture. Michelle strikes me as a much more fierce character that Barack; rightly unapologetic of anything associated with her down-to-earth nature. This dress, of splattering black and red, boasts of no prevalent fashion as much as it displays Michelle’s open defiance of the status quo. The whole of the campaign was based upon “change”, but who’d thought that meant our fashion? There’s no question about it, you can expect a new approach from these two!

kooka_lives - it's still early after a crushing defeat for some people
There are bound to be a few people still bitter about what happened in the election.
This entire event demonstrated for me who the sensible people (on all sides) are on this site. The words leading up to the election, the lies and nonsense thrown around recklessly and the words of some in the aftermath, simply shows what some folks are made of.

Have you read WriterofLight's open letter to Obama yet?
Much of what I said here was my response to that post.
It was NOT 'gracious' in any way really. What I wrote here was much more respectful.

I agree with the last comment. If you can have a little dig somehow at
those who have a different opinion to you you will! I though The republicans have been very gracious in defeat. I'm an outsider so it's nothing to me really but of course it's difficult to work so hard for so long and be so sure in one's beliefs to then find they were unpopular. You gave them some credit but can't you be a more charming winner?

One of the fine attributes of anyone is that he, or she, is faithful to his or her convictions. You have that attribute. It serves you well.
