I sincerely hope and pray that Obama does bring this Country back on solid financial footing, but he's not going to do with socialism.

Corbin, your self imposed ignorance on this has inspired a post
Instead of replying directly to you here, I'll go a head and write a full post talking about Obama's accomplishments. Now you need to understand I will be using facts in said post, so it may confuse you a little, since you are most use to following propaganda an misinformation.

RSM, I have two young children myself so your point doesn't fly here
And because I want a better future for them, I am glad Obama won and is going to give them that. Unlike Bush and other republicans who are all ready to sell the future of this country away at every chance they get.
You won't give Obama chance because you are a total a-hole who is as brainwashed as it gets. You've seen nothing from Obama yet, because he has not had a chance to do anything. A year form now you will most likely be eating your words, unless you lack integrity and are in denial. I have no doubt Obama will impress the world in the next year or so.
Biden did not predict an attack, but a test. That can come in many ways. And so far from what Obama has shown us, he is more than ready to deal with such a test. And the test would come even if McCain had won. The big difference is that McCain was very much showing he could not handle such a test with the way he ran his campaign. If we were to look at how those two men handled themselves over the last year, it is clear that Obama has it together while McCain is falling apart.
As to why the rest of the world likes him, that is obvious. Unlike McCain, Obama is willing to do the right thing and work with other countries to create peace, instead of going to war and be aggressive, which has been proven to NOT fix the problems. Many of our 'enemies' would rather work things out than become hostile. If Bush had done the right thing shortly after 9/11 and worked together with all the countries who were ready and willing to do such, then we would be in better shape as a world right now. But he had to use 9/11 as an excuse to go into Iraq and make all the problems worse.
Now the terrorists are the ones who don't want Obama in office. they would rather see McCain there, so that they would be able to keep the recruitment as high as Bush helped them get it

kooka_lives - I think it is important to remember that he is walking into a
maelstrom of daunting issues.
In some ways, it is a can't lose situation where even of modicum of realistic expectations will define his presidency as a positive influence on the USA. It's like taking over the management of a sports team after a number of losing seasons, up is almost an easier direction than further down. On the other hand; there is the potential to make things worse than they already are but I share your optimism on this.
One thing he has going for him already is an unprecedented international popularity. When this is coupled with the tools to do the job, such as widespread support at home as well as House and Senate majorities, everything is in place for him to succeed, if success is possible.

Re: RSM
List a few things.....seriously, no flowing generalities, but specific things that he accomplished, not tried, but accomplished. I really want to know of them....to be able to understand why he's the "one". Since you're so enlightened, it should be an easy thing for you.........

We do need that inspiration right now more than ever. Bush has drained us of hope and made us feels as if the future was bleak. Obama is the man we need right now to make us feel as if things can get better.

We do need to be cautious, and that can go with our excitement perfectly. While we would all like to believe Obama will be a miracle worker, we have to be rational and just have faith that he'll do the bare minimum and gets this country back on track, fixing all the many problems caused by this last administration. Although after all we have seen these last eight years, it will be easy for him to impress us all with little work. Of course that leaves the door wide open for him to really make some changes that are going to be where his truly shows his potential.

No, I have no need to validate myself. I mean it is not like I was backing Bush back in '04, where there had to be a lot of self denial over the guy to validate voting for the man.
I've seen nothing in what Obama has done or said so far that says he was he 'wrong choice' as you wish to claim.
Although since he is following up Bush, it will be way easy for him to look impressive. I mean with the level Bush has lowered the bar to, there is not much needed to get above that. With Bush having brought us to the bottom, the only way to go is up.
I guess you just don't understand what it is like to have a politician that is actually worth getting behind.
As for what Obama has accomplished in his life, are you are total idiot? He has done a lot, even before his campaign. You are just bitter because the better man really did win this time.

Re:
When you have two young children and are concerned about their future then you have the Hussein Obama/Biden administration taking over then yes I am bitter as hell. It has nothing to do with race as so many idiots scream but it does have everything to do about what Hussein Obama is all about. If only people would have got this excited over an Alan Keyes or J.C. Watts or Dr. Condi Rice presidency! I will not give Obama a chance because I do not like what I am seeing nor hearing already and he is not even in office yet. In 1992, I wrote about supporting Clinton as president as loyal opposition and that I hoped he would do a good job. Not this time!

It just feels good to have someone that is about to become the President that might actually do a good of it. Looking back at my adult life, this country has been screwed over big time. Most of the time neither side has offered a very good candidate, but then we got Obama.
While I do hope he will impress everyone, I understand the limits of man and of politicians, and so I am not really expecting any miracles, just that he'll do a better job than the last few who have come before him. That alone will make him look remarkable.

Yea, can't wait until Biden's prediction of an attack within the first 6 months of this worthless administration. I guess that is the
"change and hope" part where we go from not having an attack since 9/11 to having one by June 2009 then we can hope our nation survives! Oh, ok, now I get it! Keep smoking that pot liberalsbut next election day please do yourselves a favor and stay home!

Couldn't agree w/ you more re: Obama. I'm excited (yet cautious) about what's ahead. He has so much crap already on his plate from the Bush years. Lots of digging out to do. I love his pick for Sec. of State. What a shame there are so many angry people such as RedStatesMan.......christ.......that guy is BITTER. Won't even give Obama a chance.

Trying To Convince Or Validate Yourself?
This is at least the second post you have written where you seem to be trying to state the dsame thing about "you really believe we will see greatness", HA! Then you talk about what he accomplished during his campaign? Then again they are the only accomplishments he has in his life. Boy wonder better give better answers with details, for a change, about what he will do with the economy, foreign policy, etc. than he did today. Only 3 days after the election and your choice for president is already screaming: WRONG CHOICE! Wow, poor excuse for a president going to be easy pickings!
