I personally am rooting for both of you
It would truly do my heart a world of good, to see this particular battle to come to an end.
While we may not all agree on the how things should happen but do we not really want the same things overall. The ability to take care of our families, the freedom to do what it takes without harming other to achieve our goals and the freedom to say what is on our mind without fear?
You two have a personal cheerleader in me for this effort. Come on show everyone you are both really good guys! I know you are so just fess up and show us all!

corbin, I am all for being civil
If you really are serious about showing respect, then you will find me showing you the same.
A good first step for you might be for you to unblock me. There have been times when I've wanted to comment on your posts, positively in some cases mind you, and was unable to because of the block.

Wow Carbin,
Still not able to write a comment without being sarcastic or insulting I see.
I find it interesting that you keep demanding all manner respect from me, yet an fully unwilling to show me any in return or do anything to earn my respect.
After a comment like that, do you really have to wonder why I have no respect at all for you? I mean I do show you more respect than you show me, but trust me I have none for you because you have yet to do anything at all to earn it.

Okay corbin
To begin with the article itself is his opinion and he presented them here in a very respectful manner and so I gave him equal respect by reprinting them unaltered. That does not mean I agree with the full body of them, but I just felt since he was one of eh few American Conservatives that shows such a high level of respect and integrity that he deserved such in return.
As for your actual questions:
I personally believe that there should be no more discussion of prayer in school, abortion, English as the national language, gay marriages, and a host of other issues that escape me for the moment, at the Federal Government level.
Yes, I do agree with him there. Of course it is equally the fault of the Conservatives that such issues went to the Federal level. As they tried to take way the rights of the people, they pushed those issue to the federal level and were very upset when in the end they failed to take away other people's rights. If certain groups of people would be able to understand how freedom should work, then those issues would never even be brought up.
And For the record, I want my Federal Government to provide the following services:
1) A strong national defense
2) Relationships with foreign nations
3) A federal banking system
4) A food inspection system and health study/Infrastructure
5) A federal justice system
Is technically what the Federal Government is suppose to be all about. We have had to evolve it some in order to help maintain freedom for so many when certain groups out there are doing all they can to remove freedom and force their moral values on everyone else. At such point there is no real choice but for the Federal Government to step in and stop such foolishness.
"My faith tells me that abortion is wrong, marriage is between a man and a woman,"
I agree that such is his faith, but I think that he is wrong. That line is pure opinion, but unlike so many others, he presented that opinion in a very respectful manner, rarely seen with American Conservatives.
"My conservative principals instruct me to pass all issues not in my federal top five to the state and local level for consideration."
Once more I agree that such is his views. And I do believe that as much as possible that is how is should be done. The problem once more comes down to rights and freedoms. If on a state level certain groups are being allowed to take away freedoms and right and privileges of other groups just because they have a 'moral' issue with certain things, that is just wrong and the Federal Government may need to step in and repair such a horrible attack on freedom. After all no state can go and counter the freedoms given to use by the Founding Fathers, no matter how hard some groups may try to do this.

This is an excellent article that you reposted from Taxguy.....
But, I am curious as to how much of the article you support? All of it, most of it, a lot of it, or one or two paragraphs that agrees with the singular point regarding "no more partisanship? For example do you agree when he states:
I personally believe that there should be no more discussion of prayer in school, abortion, English as the national language, gay marriages, and a host of other issues that escape me for the moment, at the Federal Government level.
And do you agree with his 5 points regarding the Federal government:
For the record, I want my Federal Government to provide the following services:
1) A strong national defense
2) Relationships with foreign nations
3) A federal banking system
4) A food inspection system and health study/Infrastructure
5) A federal justice system
And do you agree when he states:
"My faith tells me that abortion is wrong, marriage is between a man and a woman,"
And do agree when he states:
My conservative principals instruct me to pass all issues not in my federal top five to the state and local level for consideration.
If so, welcome aboard, I'm ready to have some enjoyable discussions with you!
If not, why on earth are you trying to sound as if you do???
