- Go to and now...a few words about shoplifting...
As a former general manager for a warehouse club......
the theft problem was from employees more than members....but they were very creative when they did it......for example I was there before the video camera systems were put in.......did you know a filing cabinet box holds exactly 6 DVD players in their boxes......or 84 cartons of cigarettes.
Warehouse clubs have few employees roaming.....and since we sold the strapping tape and their holders in the office aisle.....it was easy to retape the boxes after the switch..
The best one I had was a Chinese man who, when we first started selling computers, was returning a computer as defective every week.....we discovered he was opening them up and stripping out all of the parts inside........

Retail
Now at least I know why I consistently get lousy service in stores - I look too honest, at least relative to others! Next time I'm gonna wear a balaclava - that should make them pay attention to me...

In my retail experience in Corporate stores, I have found customers who will not shoplift but will return expensive products after having used it saying...it is not exactly what they wanted. Of course, the odd brave soul will walk their carts outside, straight past the registers ...and not get caught!

Kids to it for “kicks”, some people do it out of need, and for others I guess it’s kind of a rush or a high. Whatever the reason if you’re not a Wal-Mart or a Costco, the small retailer takes the hit.
