RSM, you make it hard to not sink to your level
I will still show you more respect than you are showing me and not reply to you at the level your deserve. When you show yourself to openly say you won't show any respect to people you disagree with, it makes it hard for me to not show you that same lack of respect.
I and no liberal I know of ever said Obama was going to be a miracle worker. We all just saw his potential and believed that he would at least put an effort towards making a real change, the kind of change we really need here. There has been no back pedaling at al. Go and find for me anywhere that I ever said he was a 'messiah' or anything of that nature. That was the conservative propaganda machine that was making those claims, not the liberals. We were just saying he was a great candidate, far better than what we had been seeing for some time now from either side.
And I highly doubt anyone will have to work as hard to justify anything Obama does as much as had to go into justify just about everything Bush did. Clearly you are still bitter that Obama will have to do next to nothing in order to look way more impressive than Bush. But the truth is that Obama will do a lot for this country, that much is clear since he really has no choice. And in eight years, when Obama's time as President comes to an end, there is no way he will look anywhere near as bad as Bush. It is just impossible for him to screw up that badly. And seriously, as a reply to such a comment, it was hard for me to not sink to your level. I really do wish you understood about how respect works, because I have none at all for you since you clearly have none for me, yet I will at least try to show you some.

kooka_lives - these people must not fully comprehend how the rest of the
world views the USA.
Where it has been a natural penchant for the portion of the world that could be referred to as "have nots" to look upon the USA with a mixture of envy and disdain, those in philosphical or religious opposition have ratcheted up the hatred in recent years. Where the perceptions and opinions of the world community towards the USA have an ebb and flow, it is safe to say that at this point in history your country has never been as unpopular. The election of a black man of mixed heritage with a muslim name, has done more to diffuse this negative view than we will ever know.

Whatever else anyone can say about our next president,
he has brought people to take an interest in political affairs and taking care of their civic duty (voting). And I, for one, am looking forward to having a leader who speaks in complete sentences.

Don't Trip Or Fall You May Hurt Yourself!
I have never seen so much backpeddling in all of my life than you and other liberals are doing at the moment. You seem to be going back on all the "greatness" of Hussein before the election but now you seem to be on a "tone down" mission. I thought he was the "Messiah"? This title sticks in my craw because no one on this earth deserves this title and never will until the true Messiah comes again. This is a joke! We will see how great your choice in a president will be, oh yea, we will see. trust me, you will be backpeddling for the next four years, boy! Good luck with your spin!

Corbin, I don't expect you to become a loyalist
And I have already seen all that manner of vile things being said about Obama, much worse than what was being said about Bush at this point in his presidency and he has not even taken Office yet. At least with Bush it was mostly after he started to screw us all over and give us a reason to say such things about him. And in a year form now if Obama has turned out to be a complete screw up with the job, I would expect to see people saying such things.
My point is that I have seen conservatives criticize anyone for saying how great of a job Obama could do, while themselves have already condemned him as being a poor president without him having done a thing. We had one conservative here ready to impeach Obama a week BEFORE the election.
The liberal are saying he has the potential to be a great President, not that he already is, while a great deal of conservatives seem to have already decided his presidency is horrible.

I have a vested interest in the O-man succeeding....
I own my own business and would like to keep owning it! But that does not mean I won't comment on something I think is wrong.....or obviously contrary to the promises he made in the campaign........
I can assure you I will not call him a fascist, Hitler or any of the hundreds of other vulgar names or make the vile comments that I have seen about President Bush since I've been here on Blogit.
But don't expect us to rollover and play dead, or surrender our personal beliefs or principles in order to participate in any love in. On Dec 15 he becomes President- elect.....on January 20 he becomes the President. He will get my respect......that does not mean I become a loyalist.

Kooka: You should not be influenced by people who only know to offer negative criticism. Most conservatives I know are congratulating Mr. Obama and are willing to give him, at least as much slack as every new President gets. Perhaps, you notice I do not respond to these neophytes who peddle despicable diatribe. Those conservatives who matter, GW and Karl Rove included, express their wishes for a successful President Obama.
