All kinds of wonderful
"thingys" happen when opening a dictionary. ( I'm smiling

) How about that fifty cent piece or what does the
Wal in Wal
?Mart stand for anyway. Funny things to think about.

Whacky & Bo
Why on earth were you looking up halibut? Tell the truth, you were looking up hali but forgot. I hadn't noticed Wal*Mart's new logo Whacky. I must pay attention. Say hello to Bo.

Ha ha, cute! Great post!
Perhaps someone else said in below comments (which I've not read yet), but I'm thinking the gold eagles, or half eagles would be worth a pretty penny about now!

I figured it out, I think...
I think the only entity that has enough money to bail out the
government bailout fiasco IS Wal*Mart! I think the asterick is less offensive than Wal$Mart and cheaper to print than Wal

Mart. They're building a brand new one closer to my house and they had to tear down several old houses to make room for this huge building but they replanted the BIG established trees along the side of the road instead of bulldozing them. Somehow, that makes it seem better??? (Although ours is one business who suffers some loss to the cheap photo studios...)

I also wonder why
all the Rx companies spend billions of dollars on TV, internet, and printed ads when they could simply LOWER THEIR PRICES on drugs. But that's just me.

You crack me up! I had not heard of those half coins either. But just for the halibut we have to have these strange things happen! About that word of yours, it does have its varied uses too! I haven't seen the
Wal*Mart logo as yet! I will check it out! Have a great evening! Go Bo! sam

Wacky
From what I read it's to enhance their image but what difference does it make - a hyphenated name or one that ends with a star? Umm....

We used to have
Crowns and Half Crowns.I don't remember Crowns (no honest!) but was often given a Half Crown as a treat. It converted to 12.5p when we went decimal in 1971

I want to know why you were looking up halibut in the dictionary. It seems that you would be looking it up in a cookbook. LOL. Did you buy some halibut in Wal*Mart? I'll bet if you can't find halibut in Wal*Mart you could find some kind of product for halitosis caused by eating too much halibut.
